Scholarship
The competition was very tough and we spent countless hours trying to decide who had what we were looking for. We are very proud to announce the winners of our 2007 scholarships:
Jordan Rhodes and Jennifer Coffee
Jordan Rhodes is
pursuing a career in pre-medicine and a $1000.00 scholarship was sent to the
UNC Financial aid office. Jennifer Coffey will be attending University of
Colorado in Colorado Springs and a $1000.00 scholarship was sent there.

Description of Scholarship Benefits
The Elizabeth Firefighters Community Foundation, Inc. is committed to providing resources to encourage our local students to further their academic knowledge. The foundation is offering two (2) $1000.00 scholarships to any graduating senior in any general field of higher education including college, technical or vocational education. If the applicant would like to seek schooling in an emergency medical services or fire services industry than the foundation would increase the scholarship an additional $250.00. The deadline for the application is April 20, 2007.
Scholarship Eligibility and Foundation Policy
· It is the policy of the Elizabeth Firefighters Community Foundation to provide equal opportunities without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual preference, age or disability. · Scholarship is open to any graduating high school student who has attended a minimum of two semesters at a high school within the Elizabeth Fire Protection District. · Students that are related to any current member, past member, or employee of the Elizabeth Fire Protection District and/or The Elizabeth Firefighters Community Foundation, Inc. will not be eligible to apply for a scholarship award. The definition of a related party is as follows: § Children § Grandchildren § Niece § Nephew § Brother § Sister · Students applying must fill out an Elizabeth Firefighters Community Foundation scholarship application. · Must provide proof they have maintained at least a 2.5 or higher grade point average through high school. (An official school transcript will be accepted.) · Scholarship recipients must agree to provide documentation upon request, to the foundation showing that funding has been used in accordance with the scholarship guidelines and that the students Grade Point Average is being maintained at an acceptable level throughout the funding cycle.
